Blog # 6: Course Summary and Reflections

EDT270 is described as a Seminar course on Educational Technology and I think all the goals of the class have been met successfully.

In this course I was able to do and learn about the following:

1. discuss theories and trending practices on EdTech
2. come up with a concept for a seminar presentation
3. evaluate peer-reviewed journal articles and develop a 10-page paper on the topic I chose
4. be involved in the planning and execution of a plenary seminar with breakout sessions
5. present to the class and to an audience the findings of my study and finally,
6. collate all my papers and resources into one digital portfolio that shows what has transpired in the course.

Not to mention the enjoyable discussions and bonding I had with my classmates. It was indeed an unforgettable class.

I really appreciated this class because I have learned so much about how to plan for and conduct seminars. I know it was just a mini conference, but the system we thought of to incorporate all talks (Bingo-style) fits exactly one of the topics discussed in the seminar (gamification).

The only thing that could have made the class much better is if there would have been less days off and more meetings so we could have had a more organized seminar planning.
